Phase 1: July 2006 – October 2006


Phase 1 will set up initial infrastructure to run mentioned events during 2006


Developments in phase 1 will begin in July ‘06 & include:

  • Naming signage.

  • Secure perimeter of entertainment area with fence, entry turnstiles.

  • Road entry and exit ramps including parking area.

  • Beach area setup.

  • 8 x Bedouin tent style beach bars (branded).

  • Water and electricity points, 24 hour lighting.

  • Lighted branded cladding of outside perimeter 200 Sq m (3m high x 75m long).

  • Permanent beach parasols (branded).

  • Initial tree / lawning of entertainment area.

Events planned during Phase 1:

  • Soweto Beer Festival – 26 to 30 October 2006

  • Spiced Gold Beach Party – 4 & 5 November 2006

  • Jozi Beach Picnic - 16 December 2006

  • Tour de Soweto Cycle race -16 December 2006

Marketing opportunities:

  • Branding of cladding.

  • Branding of Bedouin tents.

  • Branding of beach parasols.

  • Naming rights for venue.

  • Event Sponsors.


Phase 2: July 2006 – October 2006


Phase 2 developments will continue the infrastructure development from
phase 1.

  • Opening of theme restaurant in temporary structure.

  • Build earthen amphitheatre.

  • Provide Services: Water, power and sewerage.

  • Permanent intersection including traffic light at entrance.

  • 2 x spectacular billboards 15 m x 10m per face.

  • Extend tree / lawning of community park area.

Events to be held during Phase 2:

  • Valentines Candlelight Beach Carnival.

  • Jozi Kings of Kwaito Concert.

  • Soweto Beer Festival October.

  • Spiced Gold Beach Party November.

  • Jozi Beach Picnic & Tour De Soweto December.

Marketing opportunities:

  • Outdoor Spectacular contract.

  • 15 m x 10m per face.

  • 4 x faces.


Phase 3: January 2008 – December 2008


  • Complete building incorporating 2nd level, stands and seating.

  • Complete seating cover over stands.

  • Surface of entrance and parking areas.

  • Complete landscaping of park area.
     
    March 2009
     

  • Official Opening.

  • Jozi FM and Soweto Sport Council move in.
