Please ensure that
the following legislation and requirements is adhered to when
hosting an event at the Elangeni Events Arena:-

For any form of
music and radio broadcasting the organisers are required to
apply for a SAMRO licence [short term performing rights
license].

The organisers of
the event take full responsibility for the venue during the hire
[contract] period. The Elangeni Events Arena reserves the right
to withhold the damages deposit should the venue not be returned
in a suitable condition.

Event permission
will be obtained on behalf of the client so long as the required
detail is submitted at least 21 days in advance.

The organisers will
ensure that structural certificates are supplied in the event of
a stages being rigged etc…

All necessary items
[drapes, stage banners, stage skirts etc…] must be treated with
a fire retardant substance to a standard acceptable to the Fire
& Emergency Services and a certificate should be forwarded in
this regard.

Food provision
unless otherwise negotiated is provided by Elangeni approved
vendors.

The organisers will
ensure that a cleaning company is secured for the duration and
post the event in accordance with health and safety legislation.

Organisers will
ensure that sufficient ablution facilities are available for the
duration of the event.

In the case of
pyrotechnics the SAPS Explosive Unit and the Johannesburg Fire
Prevention Branch must vet all presentations and a certificate
issued for the safe use of LPG and explosives.

As per the Tobacco
Products Control Act No. 83 of 1993, smoking is prohibited in
public places. “…A public place is defined as any indoor or
enclosed area which is open to the public or any part of the
public and includes a workplace and public conveyance...”
